Kimber has 7 round mags with a finger extension, but they were out of stock at the time I bought. They are supposed to work flawlessly in the Micro 9. I ended up getting 3 of the Sig P938 7 round magazines and filed down the finger grip so they fit. the Solo was apparently a disaster, but the Micro and Micro 9 seem to be an exception. Of course Kimber has a shitty reputation lately. I have not gotten it to the range yet, though.īy reputation, from all the reviews I could find, videos, and all that shit, they are very reliable. I picked up a Micro 9 a couple months ago. If you stick the Shield next to the P3AT, it's considerably larger, but next to the P938, not so much. Now here's something completely out of left field, but the Shield 9mm is roughly the same size as the P938 with a hair difference on length and height, but it's a lot wider and heavier.
All of these guns are good for pocket carry, but the half inch difference may be a deciding factor depending on concealment space or it may be insignificant. The one difference though is that the 1911 style guns are noticeably heavier. The width is the same on the Sigs & Kimber, but both are slightly wider than the P3AT. So, going by assumption, the 9mm is about 1/4" longer than the 380. Since I don't own a Kimber Micro 9mm, I can only assume that it's the same dimensions as a P938. Now, the Kimber Micro and the P238 are the exact same height, length, width, and probably the same weight too. I'm just pointing this out in case you also have an extension. I didn't do a comparison pic because the extension just snags on shit, so I threw it away, but with the extension, it would be the same height as with the P238's extended mag. I have a pinky extension for the P3AT, but I don't use it because I still can't even get my friggin pinky on it. With standard capacity mags, it's exactly the same. The height is exactly the same, but since I have the extra round magazine, it makes the Sig look slightly taller. The front end is probably about 1/4 inch longer. This is the P3AT directly on top of the P238. Here's a P238 next to the P3AT, as you can see, they looks very similar in size and shape. I don't own an LCP, but I do own a Kel-Tec P3AT which appears to be identical in size, weight, and shape. Now that I have, I'll give you a run down. Apologies for my previous post because I didn't read the thread.
